Official Notice - Minor amendments to Physics Stage 6 Syllabus

The Board of Studies wishes to advise teachers of some minor amendments to content in the Physics Stage 6 Syllabus (approved June 1999, amended October 2002).
Page 27
Replace the seventh dot point in column 2 of 8.3.2. The new dot point should read:
- discuss how potential difference changes between different points around a DC circuit
Page 51
Replace the third dot point in column 3 of 9.4.2. The new dot point should read:
- identify data sources, gather, process and present information to summarise the use of the photoelectric effect in photocells
Page 52
Add a fourth dot point in column 3 of 9.4.3. The new content dot point should read:
- identify data sources, gather, process and present information to summarise the effect of light on semiconductors in solar cells
Page 59
Replace the seventh dot point in column 2 of 9.6.1. The new dot point should read:
- describe situations in which A scans, B scans and sector scans would be used and the reasons for the use of each
Copies of the amendments will be available by December in the relevant syllabus section of the Board of Studies website under the heading 'Minor amendments to Physics Stage 6 Syllabus' in the syllabus column.
The web version of the syllabus has been updated with these changes.
