2010 HSC Ancient History and Modern History Examinations Specimen Section I

Specimen papers for Section 1 of both the HSC Ancient History and HSC Modern History examinations from 2010 have been added to the Board's website.

The specimen sections reflect the introduction of objective response questions in Section 1 of the Ancient History and Modern History examinations from 2010.

The Specimen Section 1 papers are examples of what could be asked within the examination specifications which can be found on the Board's website in Assessment and Reporting in Ancient History Stage 6 and Assessment and Reporting in Modern History Stage 6. They are not meant to be prescriptive; other structures and formats, as well as targeted content and outcomes are possible in each year's examination.

The specimen papers have been produced in accordance with the Board's Principles for Setting HSC Examinations in a Standards-Referenced Framework, published in Board Bulletin vol. 8, no. 9 (Nov/Dec 1999).
