Parkes DesignTECH Exhibition Media opportunity
Media are invited to the opening of an exhibition of outstanding major design projects from the 2008 Higher School Certificate Design and Technology course on 2 June 2009.
The exhibition showcases outstanding works by students from across NSW, including four students from Western NSW.
They are:
- Sarah Brown, St John’s College Dubbo, who designed a decorative modular storage system for a child’s bedroom from large, brightly-coloured building blocks.
- Julia Carman, Canowindra High School, who used different overlays to create three evening gowns from a tight fitting, lined and boned bodice and an A-line skirt, both made from white satin.
- Melanie Jones, All Saints’ College Bathurst, who created a horse-float inspired device for transporting horse tack.
- Lachlan Turner, The Scots School Bathurst, who designed Australian red cedar bedside tables inspired by an original chest of drawers from the 1880s.
A local student will be named as the winner of the UNSW Faculty of the Built Environment DesignTECH Regional Tour Award at the official opening.
