Official Notice - English Stage 6 Prescriptions 2009-2012: Update on Prescribed Texts

Listed below are updated details regarding prescribed texts included in English Stage 6 Prescriptions: Area of Study, Electives and Texts, Higher School Certificate 2009-2012.

Updated versions of the entire Prescriptions document and the Prescriptions poster are available on the Board's website. These versions contain all previously notified changes to editions.

This speech is known by more than one title in various publications.

The title from the English Stage 6 Prescriptions document lists the speech as It is Still Winter at Home. The support document HSC Prescriptions 2009-2012 Speeches (Advanced) on the Board's website uses the title On the occasion of an ecumenical service for the victims of the canyoning tragedy.

These are the same speech.

In the HSC examination, the title It is Still Winter at Home will be cited.

Smithsonian National Museum of American History, September 11 website Audio links to interviews have recently been inoperable but have now been restored. Schools are advised that written transcripts of the interviews are available on the site and should be used if the interview links again become inoperable. The Smithsonian webmaster has been informed of use of this site as a NSW HSC text.
