Improvements to the Schools Online service will make it possible for schools to enter students for the 2010 HSC by the end of November 2009, rather than waiting until next year.
The new arrangement means schools can enter students at the same time as they typically begin their Year 12 studies. It will give schools more time to check that each student is eligible for the HSC and - if relevant - the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
The earlier opening of Schools Online for HSC entries will also ease the workload on school staff at the start of 2010, when Year 10 and 11 entries are made.
The change will also give the next group of Year 12 students earlier access to the Students Online portal.
More information about the new arrangements will be provided to schools early in Term 4.
