Almost halfway! More than 27,000 finished HSC

Day 15 sees more than 27,000 HSC students - about 40% of all candidates - now finished with exams for 2010.

Today's morning exam Chemistry continues to represent one of the largest HSC courses with more than 10,500 students enrolled, an increase of about 3% from 2009.

Two VET subjects were also examined today: Information Technology and Tourism and Events. About one in every three HSC students is enrolled in one or more VET courses, allowing them to gain nationally recognised qualifications along with their HSC this year.

In Year 10 classes all over the state, the 90,000 students who will be sitting in next week's School Certificate tests are busily preparing.

More than 152,000 online multiple choice practice quizzes have been completed this week alone - and it's still only Wednesday!
