The regional tour of DesignTECH launched in Goulburn with the opening of the exhibition at the Goulburn Art Gallery on the 29th April.

The exhibition features 23 major works by 2009 HSC Design and Technology students from around the state including four major works by local students Rebecca McIntyre of Vincentia High School, Jacinta Pozzar of St Mary Star of the Sea College, Andrew Colwell of Canberra Grammar School and Isabelle Reynolds of Frensham School.

Isabelle was awarded the tour's first UNSW Faculty of the Built Environment DesignTECH Regional Tour Award for her pre-fab modular housing design (pictured below). Isabelle's design adds an element of flexibility to sustainable, economic modular architecture featuring a unique linking system allowing rooms to be added or removed.

A seminar for year 11 students will also be held to complement the exhibition in Goulburn.

The exhibition continues its regional tour in June travelling first to Tamworth before Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and Parkes.
