The Disability Provisions Program (previously special examination provisions) has been enhanced for the 2011 HSC examinations and School Certificate tests.

The program has been renamed to better reflect its purpose: providing access to external examinations for students with a permanent or temporary disability. The Disability Discrimination Act and the Disability Standards for Education require the Board of Studies to ensure that students with a disability are able to access and respond to an examination.

Materials relating to the Disability Provisions program, including web pages, will be updated to reflect the new name.

From 2011, all applications for disability provisions must be submitted and processed electronically.Applications are lodged and decisions reported through Schools Online.
