Official Notice: Minor amendments to Stage 6 Korean Continuers syllabus and HSC examination specifications

The Stage 6 Korean Continuers syllabus and examination specifications have minor amendments.

Implementation of the amended syllabus and examination specifications commences immediately for 2011 Preliminary and 2012 HSC courses.

The syllabus amendment is to Section 8.1.1 on page 15. Students are no longer required to undertake an in-depth study.

The amended Stage 6 Korean Continuers syllabus wtih tracked changes is available to download from the syllabus section of the Board’s website.

The key amendments to the examination specifications are:

  • The written examination will be worth 80 marks and the oral examination 20 marks
  • The oral examination will consist of a conversation
  • Section I: Listening and responding will be worth 25 marks and consist of one part only
  • Section II: Reading and responding will be worth 40 marks. There will be two questions in Part A with questions phrased in English for a response in English. In Part B there will be one extended response question phrased in English for a response in Korean.
  • In Section III: Writing there will be two questions phrased in English and Korean for responses in Korean. The first question will be worth 5 marks and the second question will be worth 10 marks.
