The Board is holding three video conferences for teachers during term 3. These conferences are a convenient way for teachers to hear the latest information from the Board and participation can count towards Teacher Identified Professional Development hours.

Wednesday 10 August Vocational Education in Schools
This session will provide general information about Stage 5 and 6 VET courses in schools and respond to people’s questions about specific issues, for example Industry Based Learning and work placement. Target audience: Executive and interested teachers

Wednesday 31 August Life Skills and the new HSC Profile of Student Achievement
This video conference provides an overview of the credentials received by students undertaking Life Skills courses for the School Certificate, Preliminary and HSC years, as well as important changes to these credentials for the 2011 HSC. Target audience: Executive, learning support teachers, year advisors and teachers

Teachers will be given a demonstration of how to use Schools Online to:

• create Worksheets to collect information about Life Skills outcomes achieved (School Certificate and HSC)
• enter outcome information in Schools Online to create the Profile of Student Achievement (School Certificate and HSC)
• print Profiles of Student Achievement for students undertaking courses based on Life Skills outcomes and content (School Certificate).

Wednesday 7 September Developing HSC Assessment Policies
Learn how to develop comprehensive HSC assessment policies and review assessment practices in your school. Target audience: Executive, curriculum co-ordinators, teachers

All sessions start at 3.45pm, with log in commencing at 3.30pm, and run for around 45 minutes. Questions can be emailed or sent by SMS prior to or during the video conference.
