Schools' Guides to the new NSW K-10 syllabuses

Did you know that the Support Materials section of the NSW syllabuses for the Australian curriculum website includes two Schools’ Guides? Both guides are presented as short videos that introduce the new K–10 syllabuses. They may be used as part of planned school development activities.

There are two guides:

Each guide answers the following questions:

  • How is the Australian curriculum being implemented?
  • What is similar and different about the syllabuses?
  • How do the syllabuses cater for all students?
  • How can I access the syllabuses?
  • What support is available for initial implementation of the syllabuses?

Schools may use the Board’s range of support materials to plan teaching and learning programs during 2013 as they move towards teaching the new syllabuses from 2014. You can access the syllabuses and support materials anytime, anywhere on a variety of devices using the Board’s NSW syllabuses for the Australian curriculum website.

In addition to the Board’s support materials, systems and sectors will offer a range of professional support materials and activities.

For information about implementation of the new syllabuses in NSW, read Official Notice BOS 24/12. In addition, an implementation schedule is included in the About section of the NSW syllabuses for the Australian curriculum website.

To keep informed of new additions to the website, including new support materials, visit the ‘News and Events’ link. You can also subscribe to the Board’s weekly email bulletin.
