Reminder: 7-10 curriculum requirements and preliminary commencement

Schools are reminded that the mandatory curriculum requirements for Years 7-10 students have not changed. These requirements are listed in section 4.2 of the Assessment Certification and Examination (ACE) Manual (2005).

Year 10 students are required to maintain a satisfactory attendance record and attend school until the final day of Year 10 as determined by the school system concerned or the principal of non-systemic schools.

Students undertaking a Preliminary course cannot commence Year 11 work prior to Day 1, Term 1 of Year 11.

Schools delivering the HSC program using a vertical model and seeking to commence Preliminary courses prior to Day 1, Term 1 are reminded that they are required to have permission from the Board of Studies. Application requirements are detailed in Procedures for schools delivering the HSC program using a vertical model.
