K-10 draft syllabus consultation meetings begin today

More than 160 primary teachers have registered for a consultation meeting about the draft K-10 syllabuses (version 2) for English, Mathematics, Science and History. With the addition of secondary teachers and members of the public, the total number of registrations exceeds 500.

The first consultation meeting will be held in Katoomba today. Meetings will also be held this week in Lismore, Glen Innes, Moree, and in Sydney at Burwood, Silverwater and Dee Why.

All meetings are from 4.00 – 6.00pm and registrations close the day before.

These meetings are endorsed by the NSW Institute of Teachers and count towards two hours of professional development.

For more information or to register, visit the Board's website.

If you can’t attend a meeting you can still have your say about the draft syllabuses using the online surveys. The syllabuses can be viewed in PDF or navigated using the new interactive online format.

The interactive online format makes it quicker and easier to navigate the NSW draft syllabuses as content can be navigated by stage or by strand in each syllabus.

Consultation ends 30 April 2012.
