2014 HSC written examinations begin

The 2014 Higher School Certificate written examinations start on Monday 13 October. A record 76,679 students are enrolled in at least one HSC course this year.

The written exams take place over 18 days between Monday 13 October and Wednesday 5 November. There are 116 different exam papers. The first exams are English Standard and Advanced, and English as a Second Language (ESL). The last exams are Entertainment Industry, French Extension, Information and Digital Technology and Retail Services.

Information on the conduct of the HSC written examinations, including the 2014 Presiding Officer Handbook, is available from Schools Online > Memos and Documents. Principals or school staff experiencing an examination emergency, or needing advice on the conduct of an examination, should call the Marking Centre Office on 1800 200 955. Staff are available on this number from 7am - 7pm each weekday during the examination period.
