Information for K-6 schools implementing History in 2015

For 2015, K–6 schools have the option to implement the new NSW History K–10 Syllabus (2012). Schools choosing to teach the outcomes and content for K–6 in the new NSW History K–10 Syllabus (2012) will do so in place of the Change and Continuity strand in the current HSIE K–6 Syllabus (1998).

Schools that implement the new History syllabus in K-6 will continue to teach the outcomes and content in the Environments, Cultures, and Social Systems and Structures strands in the HSIE K–6 Syllabus (1998).

The BOSTES recommended percentage of teaching time for the HSIE key learning area is unchanged at 6-10% of the typical school week allocated to this area overall.

The full text of information for K–6 schools implementing History in 2015 is available on the BOSTES website.
