Hour of Code - learning opportunities in digital technologies

Code.org's Hour of Code is an introduction to computer science designed to show that anyone can learn the basics.

It is a learning activity that supports many NSW syllabuses including Science and Technology K-6, Technology (mandatory), Information and Software Technology, Information Processes and Technology, Software Design and Development and Mathematics K-10.

Tutorials will be available in over 30 languages.

Logical thinking and creative problem solving are embedded within the Hour of Code activities and from 8 to 14 December students can participate in Hour of Code online.

In 2013 over 15 million students participated around the world. Tutorials and support are available online and teachers can host an event at their school. It is also possible to be involved without access to computers.

Code.org also provides hour-long tutorials featuring Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Angry Birds, and Plants vs. Zombies-for a computer, tablet, smartphone, or with no computer at all.
