New student mental health report says role of friends in seeking adult help important

The NSW Commission for Children and Young People and the NSW Mental Health Commission's Support in tough times: Encouraging young people to seek help for their friends report shows schools can help students with mental health problems by recognising the important role of friends in seeking adult help.

The research involved surveys and focus groups of students and principals across the school sectors in NSW, including a survey completed by 3,241 students in Years 9 and 10.
