Professional Development Workshops

BOSTES will present a range of professional development workshops in Term 1, 2014.

These workshops are registered professional development courses. For teachers accredited at Professional Competence, completion of a workshop will contribute nominated hours towards registered professional development depending on the duration of the workshop.

Term 1 workshops include:

· Support for primary educators

This information session for staff in primary schools highlights the resources available through the BOSTES website. It includes a demonstration of the Program Builder tool, resources provided to support A to E grading processes and the support packages for students with special needs.

· Schools Online Workshops

This workshop is an introductory course for school staff responsible for managing the BOSTES Schools Online processes for their school.

· BOSTES Information Workshops

This workshop for teachers is on BOSTES processes for assessing and credentialling students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

· Beginning Teachers Workshops

This workshop is for beginning and inexperienced teachers wishing to develop an understanding of the role of the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards in school operational procedures and those wishing to expand their knowledge of syllabuses, and the programming and assessment responsibilities of teachers.

· New Special Education Teachers and Leaders Workshop

This workshop targets teachers of Kindergarten to Year 12 who are new to a special education teaching or leadership role. It will highlight advice, processes and BOSTES policies in relation to curriculum options, assessment approaches and reporting and credentialing for students with special education needs. Information and support materials on BOSTES websites will be demonstrated.

For more information on the workshops including dates and venues, and to register, visit the professional development page on the BOSTES website from Tuesday 11 February. Places are limited.
