Delivery of NAPLAN test materials

2014 NAPLAN test materials will be delivered to all schools from Wednesday 30 April.

Principals or NAPLAN coordinators should ensure that staff members who are approved to receive the test materials have been briefed on the NAPLAN security requirements.

The principal is responsible for the overall security, receipt and confidentiality of all test materials from the time the materials are delivered to the school through to the end of the test security period. The principal is to ensure the contents and quantities of deliveries are correct as soon as possible after the receipt of the material.
Handbook for Principals, p 5.

The package of test materials will include:

  • Personalised test books
  • Non-personalised test books
  • Reading test stimulus magazines
  • Writing stimulus sheets
  • Letter to Principals
  • Coordinator checklist
  • A set of black and white masters
  • Copies of the Test Administration Handbook
  • Address labels for the return of test materials
  • Special print materials return label and bag
  • Pencils.

If this package is damaged or open when delivered, or for any incidents regarding the security of test materials, please contact the NAPLAN team at BOSTES.

In 2014, the confirmation of receipt of test materials and any additional material requests must be completed through the PAR website.

Schools will be able to click the link 'Additional Materials Request' to request additional materials. This link can only be accessed once the 'Test Materials Received' screen has been completed.

When checking the quantities of test materials, the tamper-proof packaging must not be opened.

The principal (or the principal's delegate who signs for the materials) is to ensure the contents and quantities of deliveries are correct as soon as possible after the receipt of the material. Packages must be checked for tampering, and to ensure correct quantities have been delivered without opening the tamper-evident packages.
Handbook for Principals, p 5

The Test Administration Handbooks for Teachers should be removed from the package and distributed to the relevant test administrators as soon as convenient. All other test materials must be securely stored until test week.
