Professional Development Workshops
The Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards will present a range of professional development workshops in Term 2, 2014.
These workshops are registered professional development opportunities. Completion of a workshop will contribute nominated hours towards registered professional development depending on the duration of the workshop.
Term 2 workshops include:
HSC Marking Professional Learning Workshops
BOSTES is offering a series of one-day workshops to simulate the HSC marking experience.
The workshops are targeted at all secondary teachers, particularly those teaching Stage 6. The focus is on the HSC marking process and BOSTES onscreen marking application. Although participants will work with student responses from Section 1 of the 2013 HSC English Standard and Advanced examination, the workshop will be relevant to teachers of most HSC courses.
K - 6 Consistency of Teacher Judgement
This workshop highlights the concepts and issues underlying standards based assessment. It focuses on consistency of teacher judgement and the allocation of grades using the Common Grade Scale.
7 - 11 Consistency of Teacher Judgement
This workshop highlights the concepts and issues underlying standards based assessment. It focuses on consistency of teacher judgement and the allocation of grades using the Common Grade Scale, Course Performance Descriptors and the Common Grade Scale for Preliminary courses.
