BOSTES merger update

As this is the last edition of the Bulletin for Term One, I wish to take the opportunity to give a brief update on the BOSTES merger.

The Board meets for the second time on Tuesday 8 April, the Quality Teaching Council (QTC) has had its first meeting, and the Board committees are being finalised. It has been a very positive and constructive start to the year.

I have been meeting the key stakeholder groups – representatives of principals, school sectors, parents, and teacher associations. BOSTES also held the Student Advisory Group meeting. At these meetings we are covering the full range of issues now the responsibility of BOSTES

Last week BOSTES provided a submission to the Commonwealth review of the Australian curriculum, which was developed in consultation with all three school sectors. The submission is on the BOSTES website.

From next term BOSTES will begin the next phase of its merger, including the launch of the updated teacher accreditation website, and changes to our publications and websites to reflect the new organisation.

I thank you for your ongoing support.
