Savannah College of Art and Design visits BOSTES

Representatives from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), a specialist art and design university with campuses in the US and Hong Kong, visited BOSTES recently to find out more about the HSC.

Assistant Director of Admission, Jacqueline Leung, and Educator Outreach Director, Esther Fong, of SCAD Hong Kong met BOSTES Creative Arts Inspector, Rosemary Gorman, and Technology Education Inspector, Peter Thompson, for an in depth discussion about the HSC curriculum and the art and design showcases, ARTEXPRESS, DesignTECH, InTech and Texstyle.

The SCAD representatives also visited PLC and Scots College, and hosted an information evening for students, parents and school representatives, as part of their Sydney visit.

Jacqueline Leung said the university was impressed by the talent of students and "the high-quality education, challenging assessment program and international standing of the HSC.

“We are amazed to see how talented and creative the students are in art and design. Their work is of top-notch quality. And we can now understand it is the dedication of the educators that help students grow and excel.”

SCAD offers over 100 Bachelors and Masters programs in art and design, including interior design, fashion design and game design, and has strong industry connections.

“Our students are encouraged to gain international exposure in their learning journey, and they are provided with professional guidance on different pathways that help them meet their academic and career aspirations”, explained Esther Fong.

Details of courses and how to apply are available on the SCAD website.
