Higher School Certificate Examinations Thursday 29 October 2015

Morning

Studies of Religion I
Candidature: 9069 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:25 am Ends: 11:00 am

The paper consists of three sections.
Section I (15 marks) consists of 10 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet and one short answer question.
Section II - (15 marks) consists of five three-part questions, each from a different religious tradition. Students choose one question.
Section III - (20 marks) consists of five extended-response questions, each worth 20 marks. Students choose one question which must be from a different religious tradition from that attempted in Section II.

Studies of Religion II
Candidature: 5977 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:25 am Ends: 12:30 pm

The paper consists of four sections.
Section I - (30 marks) consists of two parts.
Part A (15 marks) is comprised of 10 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet and one short-answer question.
Part B (15 marks) is comprised of 10 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet and one short-answer question.
All questions in Section I are compulsory.
Section II - (30 marks) consists of five three-part questions, each from a different religious tradition. Each question is worth 15 marks. Students complete two questions.
Section III - (20 marks) consists of five extended-response questions, each worth 20 marks. Students choose one question which must be from a different religious tradition from those attempted in Section II.
Section IV - (20 marks) consists of one compulsory extended-response question.

 

Afternoon

Electrotechnology
Candidature: 361 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
1:55 pm Ends: 4:00 pm

The paper consists of four sections.
Section I (15 marks) consists of 15 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (35 marks) consists of short-response questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one extended-response question answered in a separate writing booklet.
Section IV (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response, answered in a separate writing booklet. All questions are compulsory.

Italian Beginners
Candidature: 363 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
2:00 pm Ends: 4:40 pm

The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening (30 marks)
In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in Italian. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English.
Section II – Reading (30 marks)
In this section, students read texts in Italian and answer questions phrased in English for responses in English.
Section III – Writing in Italian (20 marks)
This section consists of two parts. Part A is made up of two questions phrased in English for responses in Italian. Part B consists of two questions phrased in English and Italian for responses in Italian. Students answer one question.

Italian Continuers
Candidature: 273 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
2:00 pm Ends: 5:00 pm

The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening and Responding (25 marks)
In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in Italian. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English or Italian, as specified.
Section II – Reading and Responding (40 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students read two texts written in Italian and respond in English to short-answer questions phrased in English. In Part B, the question is based on a short text written in Italian. Students respond in Italian to an extended-response question phrased in English.
Section III – Writing in Italian (15 marks)
There are two writing tasks. For the second writing task, students have a choice of two extended-response alternatives.
