New BOSTES HSC showcase: Shape 2015

Student work from the technology subjects will feature in a new exhibition, staged by BOSTES next year, that brings together HSC projects from Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design.

BOSTES, in association with the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, will launch Shape 2015 next February incorporating a selection of exemplary works in the three subjects from the 2015 HSC.

Shape 2015 will replace the successful DesignTech exhibition, which has been running for 21 years, and bring an expanded collection of student work to a bigger audience.

Previously Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design had separate showcases.

Shape 2015 opens on Friday 26 February 2016 and runs until Sunday 8 May, and will be held at the Powerhouse Museum.

Seminars and workshops providing guidance and advice to Technology students will run as part of Shape 2015.

For next year, the seminar program, will focus on Design and Technology and that subject’s marking guidelines, but students from Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design will still benefit from the professional designer presentation and digital design workshop.

In future years, it is intended to provide seminars specifically tailored for students of Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design.

In addition to Shape 2015, Texstyle (for Textiles and Design students) will still be held at the Stitches and Craft Fair from Thursday 3 March to Sunday 6 March 2016, and InTech (for Industrial Technology students) will be held at the Sydney Working with Wood Show at the Sydney Showground, Homebush from Friday 24 June to Sunday 26 June 2016.

The Shape 2015 booking form is available on the BOSTES website.
