NAPLAN critical dates and general information
The 2015 NAPLAN tests will be conducted over 3 days from Tuesday 12 - Thursday 14 May.
For students in Years 3 and 5, there are four tests covering
- numeracy,
- reading,
- writing and
- language conventions (spelling, punctuation and grammar).
For students in Years 7 and 9, there are five tests including two tests in numeracy
- a calculator allowed test
- a non-calculator test
The Handbook for Principals, which contains the National Protocols for Test Administration, will be distributed to schools by the end of February. This package will contain a letter to the Principal with the access details to the Participation and Registration (PAR) website.

| 11 – 25 February | NSW AIS and NSW Catholic Independent schools PAR website live for uploading of student information and confirming school and student details |
| 26 February – 6 March | NSW DEC and NSW CEC schools PAR website live for confirming school and student details |
| 20 March | Final date for schools to order special print materials |
| 24 April | Final date for schools to notify parents about the 2015 NAPLAN tests |
| 1 May | All parent/carer consent forms for exemption, withdrawal and disability adjustments should be finalised. Final date for schools to submit requests to BOSTES for scribe and computer use |
| 8 May | Final date for schools to receive and check quantities of test materials |
| 12 May | Test day: Language Conventions and Writing |
| 13 May | Test day: Reading |
| 14 May | Test day: Numeracy |
| 15 May | Last day for students to complete catch-up tests |
