Vietnamese delegation visits BOSTES

A delegation from the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES) visited BOSTES recently as part of its research into the development and implementation of school curriculum.  VNIES is a national research body associated with the Ministry for Education and Training of Vietnam.

The delegation, led by Director-General, Professor Dr Tran Cong Phong, met Paul Hewitt, Executive Director, and other senior officers from the BOSTES Curriculum, Teaching and Assessment Directorate, to discuss curriculum development and professional learning for teachers in NSW schools.

Mr Hewitt said “The Vietnamese government is currently undertaking reform of their school curriculum. The delegation was very impressed by BOSTES’ recent development of the interactive years K-10 online syllabuses and materials to support teaching, learning and assessment.

The delegates were also interested in NSW processes for teacher accreditation and professional learning opportunities for teachers.”
