Registration and Accreditation of Non-government Schools (RANGS)
The Board of Studies is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations to the Minister for Education and Training about the registration of non-government schools and for making decisions about the accreditation of non-government schools to present candidates for the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.
Registered and accredited non-government schools, and registration systems, must abide by the Education Act 1990.
This site provides information about the requirements for registration and accreditation. The requirements are detailed in the Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual and the Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual.
Also available are lists of the requirements in the form of proforma checklists. Many schools find the proformas helpful in planning for renewal of registration.
