2009 HSC, Year 11 and SC event timetables

Timetables for 2009 events for Higher School Certificate (HSC), Preliminary (Year 11) and School Certificate are now available. They include:

HSC (Year 12) 2009 Event Timetable
Preliminary (Year 11) 2009 Event Timetable
School Certificate (Year 10) 2009 Event Timetable

The timetables contain important dates for submission of major projects and major works, oral and performance exam dates, latest dates for illness/misadventure appeals, dates relating to 'N' determinations and important VET dates.

Official Notice - HSC Music Performance Examinations - use of unusual musical instruments or sound sources

Candidates for the HSC Music performance examination are required to perform with instrument(s) or voice.

Teachers are reminded to contact the Office of the Board of Studies to seek advice and permission if their students wish to use unusual or less conventional musical instruments or sound sources in the examinations.

Encore - Music students in the House

A traditional Croatian medley, a Broadway musical song and a tenor horn were just some of the performances featured at this year's ENCORE concert at the Sydney Opera House during February.

Encore is an opportunity for some of the best of the 2006 HSC Music graduates to take to the stage to showcase their performances and compositions developed for their HSC examinations.

Official Notice - Practical Marking Guidelines for Music

Following the 2004 HSC examinations, minor adjustments have been made to the marking guidelines for the Musicology elective in Music 2 and the Performance and Musicology electives in Music Extension. The revised marking guidelines are available on the Board's website.
