BOS 06/07 (Vol 16 No 1)

The Board of Studies wishes to advise teachers of minor amendments to syllabuses which include reference to first aid, in particular basic life support. These amendments are in response to the Australian Resuscitation Council's revised cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines.

The syllabuses which have been amended are:

• PDHPE K-6 Syllabus (pages 45 and 57)
• PDHPE Years 7-10 Syllabus (page 28)
• Physical Activity and Sports Studies CEC Years 7?10 Syllabus (page 31)
• PDHPE Stage 6 Syllabus (pages 34 and 36)
• PDHPE Stage 6 Life Skills (pages 52 and 77)
• Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation CEC Stage 6 Syllabus (pages 15 and 22)
• Exploring Early Childhood CEC Stage 6 Syllabus (page 51).

The amendments have been made to the electronic copies of the relevant syllabuses and a table detailing the specific text changes is also available on the Board of Studies website. Further information is available from the Australian Resuscitation Council website.
