Two new reports have been released on the Board's Special Examination Provisions information page.

The independent audits, by chartered accountants Walter Turnbull and by the former head of the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia, examined the Board's procedures and decisions for HSC special examination provision applications.

Both reports conclude the Board has appropriate guidelines which are followed fairly and diligently. Random sampling of schools found all students' applications were treated with equal care and attention.

Also on the information page is a link to the 2008 statistics on special provisions applications by students and schools across the Government, Catholic and Independent sectors.

The Board of Studies has also updated the Students Online web site with a series of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding special examination provisions for the School Certificate tests and Higher School Certificate examinations.

The FAQs include information about the types of special examination provisions, the requirements for the provisions and who is eligible for them.
