Official Notice - Curriculum Requirements for NSW Schools in 2011

The Board advises all schools to continue to use the existing NSW K–12 syllabuses for 2011. While implementation of the Australian curriculum will begin from 2011, this will not immediately affect classroom teaching.
Non-government schools preparing applications for renewal of registration and accreditation in 2011 should base their curriculum documentation on the current NSW syllabuses.
The Australian curriculum Phase 1 K–10 subjects of English, mathematics, science and history are currently in consultation draft form and due for release in September 2010. ACARA has extended its consultation period for these K-10 curriculum drafts until 30 May 2010.
ACARA released the draft Australian curriculum for senior secondary years in English, mathematics, science and history on 14 May 2010.

The Board strongly encourages all stakeholders to review the draft curriculum materials and to provide feedback to ACARA and to the Board of Studies.
