From 2013, student achievement at the completion of Stage 6 Preliminary courses will be submitted by schools to the Board as a grade (A to E) for each course, based on the Board’s Common Grade Scale for Stage 6 Preliminary Courses.

The Common Grade Scale for Stage 6 Preliminary Courses applies to all Board Developed Courses and Board Endorsed Courses, and is now available on the Board’s website. The grade descriptions provide an outline of student performance expected at each grade level, based on the knowledge, skills and understandings developed in the Stage 6 syllabuses.

Samples of graded student work for a range of courses will be provided in 2013 to assist schools and teachers in determining grades.

Grades for Stage 6 Preliminary courses will be reported on each student’s Record of School Achievement.
