HSC results and merit lists released Wednesday

From 6 am on Wednesday, 19 December, more than 73,000 HSC students will be able to access their results via the internet, SMS or phone. Schools can also access their students’ HSC results via Schools Online.

Most students are expected to check their results online by going to www.hscresults.nsw.edu.au or www.hsc-results.nsw.edu.au. However students can also get their results over the phone by calling 1300 669 248 or via SMS by texting their student number, followed by a space, followed by their HSC PIN to 0427 555 999 (available from 6 am, 19 December).

Students need their student number and HSC PIN to get their results. Students are urged to make sure they have these ready before results are released and not to wait until 19 December, as this could delay access to their results. Students can recover their HSC PIN online or by phoning 13 11 12.

This week also sees the release of the 2012 HSC merit lists, including:

  • First in Course – students who come first in an HSC course (provided their result is also in the top band).
  • Top Achievers in Course – students who are in the top places in each course and who have also achieved a top band result.
  • Distinguished Achievers – students who have received a top band result in one or more HSC courses.
  • All-round Achievers – students who are distinguished achievers for courses totalling 10 or more units.

All merit lists will be available from the Board’s website from midday on 19 December 2012.

Schools can also see the names of any of their students who are placed on the merit lists via Schools Online.

The HSC Results Inquiry Centre (13 11 12) opens on 19 December. This phone service offers a valuable opportunity for students to speak with experienced Board staff about all aspects of their results (cannot be called from a mobile).
