Preparing for the HSC examinations
The 2012 HSC examinations may seem a long way off, but the Board’s preparations are well under way. Schools also need to start thinking about their students’ examinations and ensure that various actions are carried out. The document ‘Information for schools for the conduct of the HSC examinations’ (available from the My Documents section on Schools Online) gives an overview of what is involved.
The table below is a checklist of actions for the remainder of Term 1.

HSC course entries due | All student entries for 2012 courses to be entered via Schools Online. |
| HSC practical examination options due | Details of students’ projects or performances that are part of their HSC examination due to be submitted via Schools Online. Details of the supervising teacher are also required. | |
| Friday 23 March | HSC confirmation of entries due | Schools must certify that students’ entries are correct and that students have received and signed their Confirmation of Entry form. Various reports available from the ‘My Reports’ section on Schools Online assist checking of entries. Certification can be done via Schools Online or fax. |
| Thursday 5 April | School nomination of HSC Presiding Officer due | A nomination form pre-filled with details of the 2011 Presiding Officer is available from Schools Online, should schools choose to re-appoint the same person. The form must be completed and returned to the Board. |
| Disability Provisions applications due | All applications for provisions based on known conditions should be submitted by the end of Term 1. Details of a contact person for Disability Provisions applications are also required. | |
| HSC marking applications close | All teacher applications for HSC marking must be submitted via Markers Online and approved by their Principal (or delegate) via Schools Online. |
