Curtain opens for almost 5,000 HSC Drama Students

4,953 students are taking their HSC Drama practical exams over the next two weeks - from Monday 18 to Saturday 30 August.

The 2014 HSC Drama exam has practical components in August, including a group performance worth 30 marks and an individual project worth 30 marks, and a written paper worth 40 marks as part of the October HSC written exams.

Drama students from North Sydney Boys High School took time out from rehearsing their group performance to be photographed and interviewed by the Sydney Morning Herald.

First trialled in 2013, this year will see greater use of the BOSTES developed App for marking Drama performances.

The App includes photographs and videos of live performances that are used to train HSC markers to ensure their marking remains reliable and consistent.

It can be used across a range of HSC practical examinations and is especially well suited to performance based courses like Drama, Music and Dance as markers can instantly record their comments.

Supervisors of Marking and senior markers can also monitor the progress of marking in real time.
