Brother John Taylor Award announced

Chief Executive of the Board, Carol Taylor, presented the 2010 Brother John Taylor Award to three deserving recipients at a ceremony in Parliament House on 23 March.

“The Brother John Taylor Award was first presented in 1993 and has become a great tradition for the Board,” Ms Taylor said.

The Award recognises students who have overcome significant disadvantage to achieve outstanding results in the Higher School Certificate.

“Brother John Taylor was a long serving Board member who made a great contribution to education in NSW," Ms Taylor said.

“It is very fitting that the Award given in his name acknowledges students who have shown such fortitude and determination. The Award is also a great testament to the families and teachers whose support is instrumental to the success of these students.”

Congratulations to the three students who share the 2010 Brother John Taylor Award:

  • Georgia Cranko of St Scholastica’s College
  • Riana Head-Toussaint of Killarney Heights High School
  • Zachary Newton of Nowra High School.
