Expressions of interest: Work sample collection project to support the RoSA for Stage 6 Preliminary

The Board is currently undertaking a project to support the introduction of awarding grades for Preliminary courses. The Record of School Achievement (RoSA) includes the award of a grade for students at the end of their Preliminary courses for the first time, commencing 2013.

The project will involve the collection of a range of work samples that relate to syllabus based assessment activities. The work samples will be aligned to grades and published on the Board’s Assessment Resource Centre (ARC) website.

The Board is seeking expressions of interest from teachers across subjects who would be interested in contributing to the project for Stage 6 Preliminary drawing from the work they have undertaken during 2012 in terms 1 and 2.

It is anticipated that teachers will have administered tasks related to their programs and collected work samples that represent a range of levels of achievement. It would be particularly valuable to demonstrate innovative approaches through tasks that may have been for example, project based, involved collaborative learning, and incorporated ICT in the process or product.

Teachers or staff groups are invited to contact Ms Vanessa Bain to register their interest and to learn more about the project.
