The following new documents relate to students’ eligibility to undertake Stage 6 Languages courses. They are particularly important for principals and head teachers of languages:

• Procedures for Eligibility Determination – these procedures have been revised and should be read carefully by principals and others involved in determining eligibility and advising students.
• Application for Eligibility Determination – Beginners Language Course – students must use this form to apply for Beginners courses.
• Application for Eligibility Determination – Continuers Course – students must use this form to apply for Continuers courses in languages where there are Heritage and Background Speakers courses.
• Application for Eligibility Determination – Heritage Language Course – students must use this form to apply for Heritage courses, which are new courses available from 2011
• Beginners Language Courses – Case Studies – examples to help schools advise on and make decisions about eligibility for Beginners courses
• Continuers Language Courses – Case Studies – examples to help schools advise on and make decisions about eligibility for Continuers courses.
• Heritage Language Courses – Case Studies – examples to help schools advise on and make decisions about eligibility for Heritage courses.
• Review of Eligibility Determination – this is a new form to be used if students who are seeking a review of their eligibility determination by the principal.
