The importance of Official Notices

Official Notices are the Board's formal advice to schools of decisions it has taken that schools and/or students must act on.

Official Notices relate directly to Board decisions about rules and requirements for the Board’s curriculum, assessment, examinations, credentialling and regulatory functions under the Education Act 1990.

Official Notices address a range of issues, including:

  • new syllabuses
  • amended syllabuses
  • new examination specifications
  • amended examination specifications
  • sample examination materials
  • amendments to school registration manuals
  • registration applications
  • policy changes.

A full list of Official Notices can be accessed by clicking on Official Notices in the yellow navigation bar on the left hand side of the Board's home page. Alternatively you can click on the latest news icon and then filter news items by category, such as Official Notices, under the Top Categories section on the right.

To keep up to date with Official Notices, subscribe to the Board Bulletin – the Board’s weekly email newsletter to schools and the education community.

The Board encourages principals to circulate Official Notices to relevant teaching staff to ensure practices and processes are always up to date. Each Official Notice provides a contact name and number for a Board officer who can provide further information and assistance.
